From 2 July to 4 July, Moscow hosted the 2nd International Scientific Conference "Digital Substation. IEC 61850 Standard. Digitization of Electrical Networks" organized by JSC R&D Center at FGC UES and DNV GL (Netherlands). The main subject of the event was digitization of electrical networks with assuring the compatibility of equipment and plants by various manufacturers.
JSC NIPOM and NNSTU n.a. R.E. Alekseev presented a joint report on Implementation Principles of DSS Cross-Platform Solutions Using Domestic Component Base.
The report describes a proprietary DSS technology based on two components: software including Control SW Code Generator and hardware that is based on widely available industrial automation means from various manufacturers. Solving the task of import substitution, decreasing Russian electrical power industry dependence on external factors, and ensuring the energy safety of the Russian Federation, information security of process control systems for 6-220 kV electrical networks, NIPOM offers solutions for DSS with the maximum possible usage of domestic Elbrus microprocessors and Elbrus-D OS.
Representatives of power and industrial companies, specialists of research and design organizations, developers and manufacturers of hardware and software for automated process control and telemetry systems attended the event. Total over 200 experts from Russia, CIS countries, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland.
The conference included an exhibition of the leading Russian and foreign manufacturers of equipment for digital substations based on IEC 61850 standard. Participants could visit the Digital Substation test site of JSC R&D Center at FGC UES.
There were delivered over 40 reports during the conference. Participants shared experience in design, certification, production and application of equipment related with digital substations and digital conversion of electrical networks. They also summarized Russian and international experience in application of digital technologies based on IEC 61850 standard, and its influence on relay protection and automation functions.
