On 10 August, NIPOM took part in the Steel Temper extreme race. The event was held at the premises of the Khabarskoye sporting complex in the Nizhny Novgorod region, at a picturesque location on the Oka river shore. Despite of the weather whims and difficulty of on-coming challenges, NIPOM employees cheerfully toed the starting line of the marathon committed to demonstrate that the company's strongly united, team-minded staff is capable of showing true grit in overcoming any challenges.
This year the Steel Temper date was coincident with the Sportsman's Day celebration when those athletic and motivated, strong in body and mind are honored. The race participants run through 5 and 8 km long extreme tracks with over 20 challenges. Runners had to plunge into ice baths, crawl under barbed wire, climb a four-meter high stronghold. Due to the common pursuit of the goal, will to win, and fellows' support, NIPOM staff overcame all of uphills and downhills, dirt, pits, nets, and ice bath. The team members honorably coped with all the challenges and finished in full strength!
Total over 2500 people took part in the Nizhny Novgorod leg of the Steel Temper. It is pleasing that every year the number of those willing to temper themselves keeps growing.
The NIPOM team thanks the organizers for the entertaining event, all other participants of the race for the happy get-together, and their supporters for the support!
The Steel Temper project is a race along an extreme track of challenges that is a new form of entertaining outdoor near-extreme activities. Different people may take part in the project: athletic or non-athletic, risk-takers or cautious persons, confident persons or those who only learn to be confident. Each participant's goal is to run though the track rather than to struggle or compete with each other. Teambuilding among participants who do not know each other and uniting around the ideas of healthy life-style and patriotism are the values the organizers put in the project.
The first Steel Temper extreme race took part in 2014in Tyumen. In 2015, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District and Republic of Crimea supported the initiative of Tyumen. In 2017, the project reached the federal level in full, and since then extreme races have been organized already in 12 cities of the Russian Federation, including Nizhny Novgorod.
